| Here's some brackets I made for my Koyo over the weekend. Thinking of polishing them but will probably powdercoat them in the end. Made a set for myself and Colocomp. Was fairly easy to do. In this first pic you can see where I started. I had modified my stock bracket on the left to fit. Then I noticed the holes on the Koyo and my mind started thinking of other ways to mount it. So I made up a quick mount for the other side. I bought some 1.5" x 1.5" 1/16" thick aluminum angle stock at Home Depot. Then borrowed my buddies table top band saw and drill press.
In this pic you can see both side hold downs are done. Then I needed a hood prop holder. Well I noticed it needed to sit higher than the top of the radiator so that it wouldn't rub on the intake piping on the drivers side. The stock hold down is made like this as well. The Koyo has identical holes on both sides of the upper rail. Well since I was making a few sets of these brackets I had an extra one already laying there. I just simply turned it upside down and bolted it on. I drilled the "mounting hole" out a little more so that the clip would fit as well.
This pic is of the other side hood prop holder. You can see I changed the angle of the cut line to simplify it up a bit more. Also if you noticed the hood prop holder sits further towards the out side of the car than the stock one does. It just happend to clip right onto the black coated part of the stock hood prop. A plus if you plan on polishing or chroming yours. As for the other side scratching, well you could probably get by with out using it. Or just put some kind of coating on the rod in that spot. Or just not be as anal as me and not worry about it, lol.

Now here's the finished product. As you can see it changed a little. When all was done I noticed the top of the radiator showed through. Then I remembered the stock one had a "L" shaped bracket that ran the whole length of the top of the radiator. So I decided to mock up a 1-piece full length bracket instead to incorporate this. I think it looks much cleaner.
I used some screws I had laying around to secure the brackets to the top of the Koyo. One change I will be making is to use full length bolts to hold both front and back pieces on the Koyo. I will cut some aluminum tubing to sit in the middle of the top of the Koyo for the bolts to go through (4 of them). This will keep the sides from caving in when I tighten the nuts up. As far as the fan shroud mounting up, I will have to shave it a little bit on the ends to clear the nuts holding the brackets on, pretty simple. I may just drill a few new holes and have it bolted on with the same bolts as well. So what do you think? Pretty simple but effective.
